Millburn email accounts

For your information, all pupil Millburn email accounts are currently frozen. Don’t worry, the children should still be able to contact me via the classroom, but they will not be able to use the email addresses to message each other outwith the Classroom. I’m not sure if any of the children were doing this anyway. Please direct all of the children’s queries through the Classroom comments.

Happy holiday!

Image result for smiling sloth photoWell, we finally made it to the last day!

I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching P3 this year. The class certainly had plenty of energy, worked really hard and are definitely ready for P4 in August.

My sincere thanks to all of my P3 parents and carers for their continued help, support and kind words this year – it was very much appreciated.

All that remains is to wish you all a very happy holiday, fingers crossed for some sunshine!

End of term!

All too soon, we are almost at the end of our year together. We have a fun movie/party day planned for tomorrow to celebrate all of our achievements in Primary 3, and wish a very fond farewell to Charlie who is off to enjoy new adventures in Canada. We will miss you Charlie! The children can dress as they like – as long as they are back into school uniform for our end of term church service on Thursday. Juice, crisps and a treat will be provided by Miss Gray, but the children may also want to bring some extra snack to share during the movie.

We’re nearly there!

Spelling

There will be no more spelling lists issued this session. Your child’s Home Learning jotter will be returned home today and it would be great if you could continue to revisit and revise the spelling patterns we have covered this year in order to boost confidence for starting Primary 4 in August. Thank you!

SHaRE in Primary 3

Next week we will be delivering the Sexual Health and Relationships aspect of our Health and Well-being programme.  All Learning Experiences and Success Criteria have been taken from The Highland Council Sexual Health Framework. As the intended learning is pitched towards Primary 2 and Primary 3 certain aspects will have been covered already last year.

By the end of the course of lessons children should be able to:

  • explain that animals are made when a sperm (from a male) and an egg (from a female) meet
  • retell the life cycle of humans
  • sequence their own personal development
  • name and identify the external body parts belonging to men and women
  • talk about their body and understand their body is private to them

A really WILD day out!

Primary 3 enjoyed a really great day out at the Highland Wildlife Park, Kincraig. The rain stayed off and most of the animals came out right on cue. We saw snow monkeys, amur tigers, polar bears, an arctic fox, snow leopards, lynx, wolverines, red pandas, wolves and many more interesting animals in the drive through part of the park.

There was just time for a quick play before we jumped back on the bus and headed home. Many thanks to all our parent and school helpers: Maya’s Dad, Charlie’s Dad, Marcus’ Mum, Kristin’s Mum, Emily’s Dad, Mrs MacLeod and Ms Murray; we  really appreciated your help and hope you enjoyed your day out with us.

Well done Primary 3!

Many thanks to all our lovely visitors this afternoon, we hope you enjoyed the entertainment!

A huge well done to the whole class – I don’t think you really needed Miss Gray there at all! Your teacher is very proud of you all.

I am delighted that so many of you could capture this afternoon on phones/camera. We are always happy for you to film/take pictures for your own enjoyment, but would politely request that nothing is posted on social media. Thanks for your understanding.

Just in case you missed it, here are some photos taken at our dress rehearsal earlier today.

Open Afternoon and School Picnic

We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon at 2.00pm. Please gather at the hut where the children usually line up and we will let everyone in the fire door.

Also, a reminder that the school picnic is tomorrow. If your child ordered a school packed lunch they will be able to collect this at lunchtime and head outside – weather permitting. If your child did not pre-order a school packed lunch they will have to provide their own as there will be no hot food available tomorrow.

Thank you!
